The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (rtd) has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to elevating the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) into a premier institution for specialised military and civilian capacity building.

This was disclosed in a statement by the Special Adviser, Media to the Minister of Defence, Leah Katung-Babatunde who noted that General Musa said this while receiving the University’s Governing Council at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.

Musa also assured the university’s management of sustained strategic support and emphasised that NAUB remains critical to equipping personnel with the technical and operational expertise required to defeat complex contemporary security challenges.

The Defence Minister believes it will turn the university into a leading hub for specialized military and civilian training to tackle security threats across Nigeria.

The statement further discloses that the Ministry of Defence will collaborate directly with the Armed Forces of Nigeria to fully utilize the 30% admission quota allocated to military personnel to bridge specialised skill gaps across the national security framework.

The Pro-Chancellor of NAUB, Lt. General Tukur Yusuf Buratai commends General Musa for his tenacious leadership and strategic foresight, noting that his contributions continue to strengthen Nigeria’s defence architecture.
