…To service petrol, electric, gas vehicles

Lagos State government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Friday launched the Ibile Oil and Gas Corporation (IOGC) Oshodi Integrated Energy Hub.

This development marks a milestone in Nigeria’s energy sector, as it is Nigeria’s first integrated energy hub.

This initiative aligns with Governor Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda and helps create modern infrastructure while driving economic growth.

The facility, which is situated at Plot 3, Block C, Oshodi, Apapa-Oshodi Expressway, Lagos, will bring together petrol, diesel, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), Electric Vehicle (EV) charging, and CNG conversion services within a single facility.

Sanwo-olu said that the facility represents a practical response to Nigeria’s evolving energy landscape.

He added that this initiative provides opportunities for residents, businesses, transport operators, and fleet owners with greater convenience and more affordability, giving them better energy choices while setting a new benchmark for future-ready energy infrastructure in Nigeria.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the initiative seeks to unlock the value of Nigeria’s abundant natural gas resources, expand alternative fuel infrastructure, promote electric mobility, create jobs and reduce transportation costs for citizens and businesses.

“Lagos fully aligns with this vision because we understand that affordable mobility is critical for economic growth.

When transportation becomes more efficient and affordable, businesses become more competitive, commercial activities expand, and residents have a better opportunity to improve the quality of their livelihood,” he said.

The Managing Director of IOGC, Temitayo Gbajumo, commended the governor for his support, adding that the project is a product of collective efforts, aligned vision, and the shared commitment to building a stronger and more sustainable Lagos.

According to him, IOGC has established a robust energy platform across the state, including 18 retail filling stations servicing the public, the MDAs, and the waterways. It has also established 8 LPG plants, 4 LPG skids accelerating cleaner domestic and commercial energy use.

It has also established 5 operational CNG refilling stations, with 12 additional CNG stations under development, 4 CNG conversion centres that have converted over 300 vehicles, and an EV charging point that provides the foundation for a wider electric mobility network across the state.

Gbajumo noted that these achievements demonstrate that IOGC is no longer a downstream petroleum company.
“We have developed the infrastructure, capability, and operational platform required to drive Lagos’ broader energy transition and expand access to cleaner, more affordable, and more reliable energy solutions,” he stated.
