The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Ajibola Basiru, has urged the people of Ifon-Orolu kingdom, Erin, and Ilobu towns, under the Orolu Local Government Area of Osun, to vote overwhelmingly for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji in the August 15 governorship election, saying the state stands a better chance of development with an APC governor.
According to the party leader, there would be robust collaboration between Oyebamiji, if he is elected as governor and an APC administration at the Federal Government, a situation that would attract greater developmental opportunities to Osun.
He made this appeal for votes when the campaign train of AMBO hit Ifon, Erin and Ilobu towns on Friday.
Speaking at the palace of Olufon of Ifon-Orolu kingdom, Oba Peter Oluwole Ipadeola, Basiru expressed displeasure that despite that allocations to Osun government has increased tremendously, the Governor Ademola Adeleke-led administration has close to nothing to show for it.
For Basiru, “There is no value for federal allocation in Osun, because the money coming into the state doesn’t commensurate with the projects executed by the state governor.”
He further claimed that the present administration has failed in the area of community infrastructure.
“The first thing that the government of Bola Oyebamiji under our party is going to do is to have community intervention infrastructure across the wards in Osun.
We don’t need to give a community water if they don’t need it, there must be need assessment.”
Specifically addresing the Olufon, Basiru bemoaned what he described as backward educational sector in Osun, our educational sector is moving backward, wondering the fate of the common man who needs education. “What will be the fate of the common residents if we kill our government schools?” Basiru asked rhetorically.
He continued, “”Presently, we have a deficit of about 28,000 teachers in Osun; let’s imagine we employ about 10,000, that means 10,000 of our youths will be off the unemployment market.”
He said Oyebamiji’s administration would transform Osun in all sectors.
“What will make us feel more effective in Osun is having robust collaboration with the federal government, not that we’ll be following a party that is not at the Federal level, partially at the state level, and not at the local level.”
“That is why we should vote for the APC, the President’s party on the 15 of August 2026, this vote will bring about development in our health sector, education, among others,” he vowed.
In his remarks , Oyebamiji assured electorate of good governance delivery across all towns and communities in the state without bias.
“Like out party scribe rightly said, we won’t prioritise road over education, healthcare delivery, agriculture development, micro economy. We will ensure all-round development and improve the business atmosphere of the state for indigenes and residents irrespective of their political affiliation,” Oyebamiji promised.
The campaign train later moved Osogbo where people at the capital city were addressed.
