The Women Parliament of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has described the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) official recognition of Prince Adewole Adebayo as the party’s presidential candidate the spark for a renewed push to capture power, declaring that the race for the Presidency has entered a new phase.

Riding on the momentum of the electoral body’s endorsement of the party’s ticket, the women wing announced plans for an aggressive nationwide mobilisation, saying women, youths and grassroots supporters would be at the forefront of efforts to market the Adebayo–Bugaje ticket as a credible alternative for Nigeria’s future.

National Speaker of the SDP Women Parliament, Ambassador Hajiya Sa’adatu Abdullahi, said the publication of Adebayo and his running mate, Dr. Usman Mohammed Bugaje, has energized party members and strengthened confidence in the SDP’s ability to mount a formidable challenge in the presidential election.

In a statement issued in Abuja, Abdullahi described INEC’s recognition as more than a procedural milestone, saying it validates the party’s democratic credentials and signals the beginning of a renewed campaign to offer Nigerians an alternative built on integrity, competence and accountable leadership.

She said the SDP was entering the race with a clear vision anchored on good governance, social justice, economic revival and the rule of law, insisting that Adebayo possesses the experience, character and leadership qualities needed to confront Nigeria’s mounting economic and security challenges.

The SDP women leader commended INEC for conducting the nomination process with fairness and transparency, noting that the electoral body’s action has further strengthened public confidence in the democratic process.

She called on women, youths and party supporters across the country to convert the momentum into an aggressive grassroots movement, urging them to champion issue-based politics and take the party’s message of national renewal to every community.

According to Abdullahi, the growing support for the SDP reflects increasing public demand for a credible political platform capable of restoring hope, rebuilding institutions and delivering inclusive governance.

She also appealed to Nigerians to pray for Adebayo, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength and good health as he prepares for the task ahead.

Reaffirming the commitment of the SDP Women Parliament, Abdullahi pledged to spearhead a nationwide mobilisation of women in support of the party’s presidential ticket, expressing confidence that the movement would become a decisive force in the election.
