Polls: Stop blaming Tinubu, Oyetola for your woes, APC tells Adeleke

Minister of Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola

Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Tuesday told Governor Ademola Adeleke to stop blaming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, for his political woes ahead of August 15 gubernatorial poll.

It also clarified that Adeleke’s endorsement of Tinubu for January 2027 presidential election should not be used as an excuse not to prepare for his re-election.

Responding to the governor’s concern over alleged non intervention Mr President in politically motivated arrests, victimisation and killings of Accord members, the APC in a statement by its director of media and information, Kola Olabisi, said Adeleke should face his self induced challenges and stop the blame game.

It is recalled that the governor, had while speaking during a campaign rally at Olorunda Local Government Area of the state on Monday evening, called out Tinubu for ignoring the killings and indiscriminate arrest of Accord members and cautioned Oyetola against alleged attempt to derail democracy by instigating violence.

Insisting that playing up emotions to curry undue sympathy from the people, most especially the electorate would not work for the governor’s re-election, Olabisi declared that the Adeleke was being hunted by imminent defeat at the poll.

According to the statement, “we want to remind Governor Adeleke that his recall of the endorsement of President Tinubu as his presidential candidate in the 2027 election wasn’t forced on him and such his decision would not be the reason why he should not be prepared for a free, fair, credible and inclusive forthcoming governorship election in Osun State.

“The unsubstantiated allegations of the puppet Governor Adeleke who covers his inadequacy by resulting to dancing when injection of intellect is needed against President Tinubu and Oyetola are misplaced and frivolous as such amount to making a justification for his imminent defeat in the forthcoming governorship election.

“One would have expected the sinking governor to state in his needless political inciting statement session at the rally to give the reasons why he has made the state Government House a refuge for the political hoodlums who have been on the wanted list of the police and why he has been empowering the dangerous political thugs with juicy political appointments.

“The main problem with Governor Adeleke is that competition is strange to him which is the reason he is crying of political persecution all over the place without any tangible proof to establish his frivolous allegations.”

Olabisi argued that while the APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would leverage on his competence and not bargain for less, Adeleke was “wining and dining and frolicking with women of easy virtues across the globe in the name of sourcing for illusive foreign investors for close to four years.”
