The Lagos Zonal Office of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) said it had resolved over 15,000 cases brought to its attention, both online and offline, within the Lagos Zone.
Zonal Coordinator of the Lagos Office of the FCCPC, Dr Olubunmi Otti, disclosed this during an interactive session with journalists at her office in Ikeja.
She stated that complaints were made online to www.fccpc.gov.ng or personally to the Lagos Corporate Office.
According to Otti, any consumer who purchases products expects to get value from them, and when these expectations are not met, the consumers have a right to complain to the FCCPC.
Otti said that for FCCPC to address complaints, the complainants must have engaged the service providers and if not satisfied with the services provided, have a right to seek redress through the Commission’s website portal, https://complaints.fccpc.gov.ng or personally to its office located at 17, Oremeta Street, Opebi Link Bridge Road, Off Oregun Road, Ikeja.
She said that the complainants must clearly state the address and location of the service providers, the receipts collected, the amount of money involved and the expected redress.
Otti further said that out of the 17,000 cases sent to the portal or brought to the zonal office, the Commission resolved 15,000 complaints primarily to protect the interest and welfare of consumers.
