Fidson Healthcare Plc has declared a N3.6 billion dividend to its shareholders as the pharmaceutical company advances its expansion plans aimed at positioning it as the largest and most sophisticated pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The dividend, valued at N1.50 per 50 kobo ordinary share, was approved by shareholders at the company’s 27th Annual General Meeting held recently. The approval came as the company reported significant growth in 2025, with its Founder and Chairman, Dr. Fidelis Ayebae, describing the year as a defining period in Fidson’s history.
Ayebae told shareholders that the company recorded revenue of N119.06 billion in 2025, making it the first pharmaceutical company in Nigeria to surpass the N100 billion annual revenue milestone.
He attributed the performance to the dedication of the company’s employees, the confidence of shareholders and the effectiveness of its long-term growth strategy.
Beyond the financial performance, Ayebae said Fidson had continued to invest in expansion projects that would shape the future of healthcare manufacturing in Africa.
According to him, the projects had reached advanced stages and, upon completion, would position Fidson as “the largest and most sophisticated pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Sub-Saharan Africa.”
He said the company was confident that the investments would enable it to deliver sustainable growth, deepen healthcare access and create superior value for shareholders and other stakeholders.
Ayebae also expressed appreciation to the Federal Government for improving the operating environment for local pharmaceutical manufacturers through strategic policies.
He said the policies had strengthened the ability of industry players such as Fidson to respond to the high demand for pharmaceutical products at affordable prices.
Building on the company’s expansion plans, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Biola Adebayo, said Fidson remained committed to sustaining growth through innovation, manufacturing excellence and strategic investments.
Adebayo said the company’s focus was to deepen its manufacturing capabilities, widen its product portfolio and improve market penetration while building a healthcare institution capable of delivering value to consumers, healthcare professionals, shareholders and society.
He added that Fidson would pursue these objectives by leveraging emerging opportunities across Africa and continually strengthening its processes for sustainable growth.
The company’s performance and dividend policy also received the backing of shareholders who spoke at the meeting, with the investors commending the Board and Management for maintaining the growth trajectory while rewarding shareholders.
The shareholders expressed confidence in management’s ability to build on the company’s achievements and further strengthen its position as a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer in Nigeria.
According to the management, in addition to approving the dividend, shareholders considered and approved resolutions covering the election and re-election of directors, authorisation to fix auditors’ remuneration and the election of members of the Statutory Audit Committee.
The resolutions, according to the company, further reinforced its commitment to transparency, accountability and sound corporate governance.
