A group known as Best Initiative for Youth and Less Privileged Development (BIYLPID), has introduced the “Each One Teach One or Funds the Teaching of One” initiative, aimed at supporting young people and other members of society with limited access to education in Zamfara State.

The National Coordinator of of the group,
Comrade Lawal Muazu, said the initiative is designed to make education a shared responsibility rather than the sole responsibility of government.

He explained that the programme will focus on providing second-chance learning opportunities for people who dropped out of school or were unable to complete their education, while also supporting them in preparing for recognised examinations such as WAEC and NECO, subject to approval and collaboration with relevant authorities.

Comrade Mua’zu urged the government, philanthropists, business owners, organisations, traditional and religious leaders, as well as members of the public, to join hands in supporting education in the State.

He explained the principle behind the initiative simply: “If you can teach, teach one, if you cannot teach, fund the teaching of one”

Comrade Mua’zu added that BIYLPID would prioritise transparency, accountability and measurable results to ensure that every contribution reaches the intended beneficiaries.

According to him, investing in education goes beyond providing knowledge, as it also contributes to youth empowerment, employment opportunities, peace and sustainable development in Zamfara State.

He further stressed that BIYLPID is not seeking to replace the government, but rather to complement existing government efforts and contribute to the broader recovery of the education sector in the state.
