ANIM confers Life Grand Patron Award on MFM’s Olukoya

The Association of Nigerian Musicologists, ANIM), has conferred its prestigious Life Grand Patron Award on the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, (MFM), and Chancellor of Mountain Top University, Dr. Daniel Olukoya, in recognition of his contributions to music scholarship, worship, education and the development of the music profession in Nigeria.

The award was presented by the National President of ANIM, Professor Femi Abiodun, who described Dr. Olukoya as “a Music Enthusiast, a Melophile, Melomaniac, Music Aficionado; who is highly delighted in music (musical Omnivore). According to him, he is equally a genuine man of God, sent by God to meet people’s needs,” and the reason for the honour.

According to ANIM President, the honour underscores Dr. Olukoya’s immense influence in promoting music as a powerful instrument for spiritual expression, personal development and positive social transformation.

The association’s President noted that beyond his responsibilities as a religious leader, Dr. Olukoya has demonstrated a longstanding passion for music, drawing from his background as a musicologist, composer and music director.

“His engagement with music reflects an understanding of the discipline not only as a form of artistic expression but also as a powerful tool for communication, worship and human development,”

Prof. Abiodun revealed that Dr. Olukoya has supported several tertiary institutions across the country by purchasing and donating musical instruments to music departments to aid learning.

“As Association of Nigerian Musicologists, we conferred on Dr. Daniel Olukoya the Life Grand Patron of our Association because of his immense contributions to music development in the country and beyond,” Abiodun said.
“He has donated musical instruments worth millions of naira for different music departments in Nigeria. The G.O also promised to touch other institutions in Nigeria and beyond.

ANIM’s President also reiterated that under Dr. Olukoya’s leadership, music occupies an important position in the activities of MFM, providing opportunities for choristers, instrumentalists, composers and other practitioners to develop their talents and serve through their musical skills.

The President added that as a musicologist and composer, Dr. Olukoya has contributed to the promotion of musical knowledge and creativity, while encouraging musicians and young talents to pursue excellence in their craft.

He emphatically said that the Life Grand Patron award is “not merely a celebration of an individual but also an acknowledgement of the importance of investing in music and the people who dedicate their lives to its advancement.”
