The Delta State Police Command has recorded fresh operational breakthroughs in Agbor and Warri, leading to the arrest of two suspects and the recovery of live ammunition and quantities of beverages suspected to be adulterated.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe.
Edafe said, in Agbor, operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit (SAKU), Ubulu-Uku, acting on credible intelligence, arrested a 28-year-old woman, identified as Happiness Clifford, over alleged involvement in gun-running activities in Ika South Local Government Area.
According to him, a search of the suspect’s hideout resulted in the recovery of 10 live cartridges concealed inside a bucket.
He hinted that during preliminary investigation, the suspect allegedly identified her husband, Clifford Okoro, as a major supplier of the ammunition.
He said efforts had consequently been intensified to apprehend Okoro, while investigation into the source and intended destination of the ammunition continues.
The command’s image maker also disclosed the in Warri, operatives of SAKU, Warri, intercepted a Toyota Sienna conveying quantities of a product identified as “Gbefun Hot Drink,” suspected by the police to be adulterated.
He said the interception took place on August 17, 2026, during a stop-and-search operation along the Warri–Agbarho Expressway.
The 44-year-old driver of the vehicle was arrested, while further investigation led police operatives to a warehouse located at Lower Ginuwa, Warri.
According to the command, additional quantities of the suspected adulterated drink and other beverages were recovered from the warehouse, alongside a Suzuki Shuttle bus loaded with similar products.
The suspected operators of the warehouse, however, reportedly fled upon sighting the police, saying efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and establish the source, production process and distribution network of the suspected adulterated beverages.
