The Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited (NDPHC) has commended the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) for facilitating the recovery of several of its abandoned cargoes at various seaports across the country.
 
NDPHC Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Jennifer Adighije, gave the commendation at the weekend when she led the company’s management on a courtesy visit to the NPA management at its headquarters in Marina, Lagos.
 
Adighije said the visit was aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two organisations and deepening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
 
She expressed appreciation to the NPA Managing Director/CEO, Dr Abubakar Dantsoho, and his management team for their intervention in facilitating the recovery of the abandoned cargoes.
 
According to her, the intervention prevented significant financial losses and saved NDPHC several billions of naira that could otherwise have been lost.
 
Adighije said efficient logistics and timely clearance of critical equipment were important to the implementation of power infrastructure projects, stressing the need for sustained collaboration between agencies and organisations operating across the energy and maritime sectors.
 
She said NDPHC valued the support received from the NPA and looked forward to further strengthening the relationship in the interest of the power sector and the wider economy.
 
The NDPHC delegation included the Executive Director, Corporate Services, Chukwuma Umeoji; Executive Director, Finance & Accounts, Mr Omololu Agoro; and Head, Expediting & Logistics, Rufai Ahmed.
 
Responding, Dantsoho expressed delight at the visit and reaffirmed the NPA management’s commitment to supporting initiatives and partnerships that contribute to national development and improve the lives of Nigerians.
 
He congratulated NDPHC on its contributions to the development of the power sector, noting that the authority remained open to meaningful engagements with the company.

Dantsoho assured the delegation of the NPA’s continued support for initiatives that advance the interests of both organisations and contribute to the growth of the national economy.

He wished NDPHC continued success and stressed that his doors would remain open for productive discussions and partnerships.

The engagement highlights the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing logistical bottlenecks that can delay the delivery of critical infrastructure, particularly in the power sector where timely access to equipment is essential to infrastructure development.
