WISE partners ABU Environmental Law Club on women, youth engagement

The founder of the Women Initiative for Sustainable Environment (WISE) Olanike Olugboji Daramola has urged women and youths to be environmental stewards, climate actors and peace builders in order to bring the desired growth and development in the country.

Besides, WISE in partnership with Energy Environmental Law Club, ABU Zaria engaged women and youths on clean cooking entrepreneurship, at the weekend.

Daramola who spoke at the Ecocare  Campus Initiative 2026- Clean-Up Campaign held in honour of Comrade Jerry Adams, Former  Executive Chairman, KADIRS who is now the running mate of Governor Uba Sani in the coming 2027 polls, said, “it is very important people know what climate change is all about”.

According to her, WISE is promoting “environmental idea, culture and practices by empowering people especially Women and youths to become environmental stewards, climate actors and peace builders.”

Daramola added that the group would continue “leading the drive in sustainable cooking and lighting solutions and transforming communities  through Eco friendly practices and access to renewable energy.”

She said,  it is important to put “women as vanguard of innovative waste recycling/ upscaling and fostering a cleaner, greener future to our communities.”

WISE Founder pointed out that “approach to the issues of environmental sustainability is an integrated one as WISE engages in environmental projects and programmes in the hygiene,  municipal waste management and tourism”

She added, “the EcoCare Campus Initiative 2026 Clean-Up Campaign, is a special honour to Comrade Jerry Adams, former  Executive Chairman, KADIRS which members participated actively for campus and community clean-up, environmental awareness, and volunteer action”.
