A socio-political group, Yayi Ni Wura Alliance Movement (YAM), has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda is beginning to produce positive results.

The group made the call at a press conference held at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

Speaking at the event, YAM’s Director of Media, Publicity and Administration, Wasiu Adejumo, urged Nigerians to be patient with the economic reforms introduced by the Tinubu administration, arguing that the measures were already yielding positive outcomes.

Adejumo also said Tinubu deserved a second term to enable him to consolidate the policies and projects initiated by his administration.

“President Tinubu is doing everything to improve the economy, while his infrastructure revolution across the country is commendable. We can see progress in the country under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.

He added that the group considered the President “a good and listening leader” and would support efforts aimed at securing his re-election.

The group also declared its support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.

Adejumo said YAM was targeting 100,000 votes for Adeola in the forthcoming governorship election, citing his record as a senator representing Ogun West.

“Senator Yayi has done well as a senator representing Ogun West and is still doing well. We believe he deserves to be the governor of Ogun State. As a group, we are going to mobilise 100,000 votes for him,” he said.

On the controversy surrounding Adeola’s indigene status, Adejumo dismissed the allegations as politically motivated, accusing opposition elements of attempting to damage the senator’s reputation.
He maintained that the controversy was aimed at portraying Adeola negatively before the electorate.

The YAM Coordinator, Akeem Sodiya, also appealed to Nigerians to support Tinubu, saying the movement was prepared to mobilise support for the President and other APC candidates.

Sodiya explained that the group’s objective was to work with Adeola and other APC candidates, particularly in Ogun State.

He further argued that Adeola’s political experience and history made him qualified to seek the governorship of the state.
