The power of hope
SIR: “May we see ourselves tomorrow.”
“We can go on Tuesday, if God spares us.”
“May the day break.”
“Say thou, naught shall ever befall us save what Allah has ordained for us.” (Surah IX 7.15)
These greetings, plans and injunctions are all expressions of hope: “Hope that we will be alive on the morrow. Hope that our plans will come to a happy fulfilment. Hope all will be well, and all manner of things shall be well…” (Julian of Norwich.) because, “God is in heaven. All’s right with the world!” – Robert Browning.
“It is well. The Lord is good all the time…” is the usual statement and assertion of all believers in the Christian doctrine and philosophy. Beautiful!
Everything in life boils down to a fervent faith in the Almighty God.
And surely it will get better by His awesome grace.
All religions in this whole wide world have the basic foundation of Hope as the pillars and rock.
All religions I say: Christianity, Islam, Bhudism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism, Shintoism, Hinduism.
Even the West African Traditional religions has a foundation of Hope and Faith as its basic roots.
The Yoruba would say, “Omo araye, e se rere, ko ba le ye gbogbo wa!” meaning, “Human beings should do good things always so our lives can be better and well for all of us.”
Without a strong belief in the effectiveness, essence, passion, workability and power of Hope, all human efforts comes to nothing.
May the Almighty God touch and reach the deepest part of our hearts and souls and grant us the very things and desires that would make us happy without negative conditions attached. Amen!!!
Think about it.
