The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has warned members against sabotaging the victory of the party in next year’s general election.
Besides, the party vowed to accomplish the mandate of delivering all her candidates from President Bola Ahmad Tinubu, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other party bearers in 2027 poll.
The State Chairman of the party, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa issued the warning during engagement with party leaders in Kano North on Tuesday.
Doguwa, represented by Zonal Chairman, Kano North Senatorial District, Hon. Abdullahi Magaji Lamba Bichi asserted that commitment of the leadership in the zone must remained absolute and unchanged, stressing that the party would continue to uphold the principle of loyalty and unity.
He said the party expected its members to uphold discipline, unity, loyalty and respect for constituted authority, warning against activities capable of undermining the party’s cohesion.
According to him, individuals found engaging in anti-party activities, factionalism or attempts to undermine the party and its candidates would face disciplinary measures in accordance with the provisions of the APC Constitution.
He said such measures could include suspension or expulsion where warranted.
Bichi further described Senator Barau as the leader of the APC in Kano North Senatorial District, stressing that the party remained united under his leadership.
He called on party leaders, stakeholders and members across the senatorial district to mobilise and vote for Tinubu as President, Governor Abba as Governor of Kano State and Senator Barau as Senator representing Kano North.
The stakeholders meeting follows the brewing internal crisis among party members from Kano North, already threatening the loyalty of members to the party.
The brewing crisis further deepened the difference between Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin and Deputy Governor Murtala Sule Garo both from the zone.
