I held a bilateral telephone engagement with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov, during which we deliberated on strengthening Nigeria-Azerbaijan relations by expanding collaboration across political, economic and humanitarian domains as well as enhancing multilateral cooperation.=

Nigeria and Azerbaijan established formal diplomatic relations on March 11, 1992, and continue to build ties through multilateral platforms, economic cooperation, and educational exchanges.

Our two nations coordinate closely within international organizations, including the the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation.
