The prospective members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) who were abducted in Imo State have been released.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, disclosed this in a statement issued by his Media Aide, Adeola Oloko, on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma, confirmed the release of the abducted prospective corps members during a telephone conversation with the Olubadan at about 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
The statement, titled “NYSC: The prospective members of the youth service corps, who were abducted have been released,” said the governor personally conveyed the development to the Olubadan.
No further details were provided on the circumstances surrounding their release or the identities and number of the prospective corps members involved.
The development follows concerns over the safety of prospective NYSC members following the reported abduction in the state.
