A Kano Central Senatorial Aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) AbdulKareem Abdulsalam Zaura has thrown weight behind President Bola Ahmad Tinubu’s second term bid in 2027 general election.

Zaura equally vowed to deploy supporters and resources to propel the victory of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and all APC candidates in the next years general election in Kano.

Zaura made the clarification while reacting to allegation of divided loyalty to APC after losing the Kano Central Senatorial ticket to former Governor Ibrahim Shekarau.

The business tycoon cum politician reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and leadership in Kano while dismissing claimed that he had opted to back opposition against his party.

Zaura explained that he has accepted in good faith the consensus candidate of Mal. Ibrahim Shekarau for Kano Central Senatorial district, warned those peddling rumors to have a rethink.

” In any political party, one person must win, one person must give him that opportunity to contest. If you didn’t get that opportunity at a particular time, you either be patient for your time will come.

“For example, in Central Central, we are more than 10 contestant. We are more than 10 aspirants that declared interest and none of us got the opportunity and somebody from nowhere that God has used ordained got the ticket.

” It is not enough to jeopardize the success of the candidate and the party. What about if you are the one who has given the ticket to contest? Will you be happy when somebody jeopardizes that ticket? So people should always be fair to each other”. Zaura added.

On his fight against drug abuse project, Zaura revealed plan to widen engagement with broaden stakeholders including the academic, religious and traditional leadership and business community to build sustainable support for addicts.

He applauded the recent efforts of the state government with the establishment of taskforce on drug abuse, he assured that his platform was willing to support the government taskforce to succeed.

” We have enough data to work with. We have as much as 16,000 in our data base and those who are indulging in illicit activities. So the momentum of deploying work for rehabilitation, training and giving them skills will soon begin.

“The study solution is still going to be completed. Even though I’m aware that the state has integrated a committee, but our task is to defend them and we have a different method of approach. Our approach is completely different.

“The complete study solution is expected before the end of this October.So we slated a meeting to be held before the end of this month, which is going to be done in Mumbai House at the last one to receive the result. And then we have the team of the local and international experts that are going to start the work”. Zaura added.
