The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed eight businesses in Amuwo-Odofin over persistent environmental violations, including noise pollution and failure to comply with regulatory directives.

The agency disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the establishments were shut on October 9, 2026, after repeated warnings and abatement notices failed to secure compliance.

The affected businesses are De-Syls Hotel Suites, The New City Sip Lounge and Restaurant, Green Life Lounge, Anchor Leisure Lodge, Ancient African Kitchen, Fameface Packaging, Mamboo Food Lounge Fashion and Salon, and Famoss Hotel.

According to LASEPA, De-Syls Hotel Suites on First Avenue, Festac Town, was sealed over noise pollution, while The New City Sip Lounge and Restaurant was shut for noise pollution and failure to comply with the agency’s directives.

The agency said the enforcement exercise was part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to enforce environmental laws, protect public health and promote a cleaner and safer environment.

LASEPA General Manager, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s commitment to enforcing environmental regulations, warning that businesses and other establishments whose activities pose risks to the environment and public health would face enforcement measures.

“Environmental compliance is a collective responsibility,” Ajayi said.

He urged business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers and residents to adopt environmentally responsible practices, obtain the required permits and approvals, and comply with applicable regulations.

The agency stressed that the enforcement action was not intended to disrupt legitimate businesses but to ensure that establishments operated responsibly and met established environmental standards.
