NEM renovates Lagos school, donates learning materials

NEM Insurance Plc

Pupils of Ilupeju Primary School, Lagos, are set to enjoy improved learning conditions following the renovation of four classroom blocks within the school premises by NEM Insurance Plc.

The intervention addressed long-standing defects in the buildings, including damaged roofing sheets, leaking roofs, structural cracks and deteriorated ceilings.

The firm also donated notebooks to pupils as part of efforts to enhance teaching and learning.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Group Chairman of NEM Insurance, Tope Smart, said the company decided to intervene after identifying the deplorable state of the facilities.

Smart noted that the renovation was aimed at providing a safer and more conducive environment for pupils and teachers, while also restoring parents’confidence in the school.

Already, he lamented that the deplorable condition of the buildings had forced some parents to move their children to other schools, adding that the facelift would encourage more families in the community to enrol their wards.
