Samuel Animashaun Perry, popularly known as Broda Shaggi, has returned to social media months after he was reportedly shot while filming a comedy skit in Ogun State.

The Nigerian comedian and actor shared an emotional video on Instagram on Monday, October 19, in which he appeared to shed tears as he reflected on an incident he described as one of the worst days of his life.
In the video, the entertainer was seen being wheeled into a medical facility on a stretcher, offering a glimpse of his experience during the period he was away from the public eye.

Accompanying the footage, Shaggi hinted that he would soon reveal details of what happened, leaving fans anticipating his account of the incident.
“Night of March 2026. A day in my life I wish had never happened. Thanks. Sharing my story this Wednesday,” he wrote.

The comedian, however, did not provide further details about the circumstances surrounding the reported shooting or the extent of his injuries. His return comes months after reports emerged in March that he had sustained a gunshot injury while filming around the Sango-Ota Bridge area of Ogun State.

Following the incident, Shaggi reportedly received initial treatment at a hospital in Lagos before being transferred to another medical facility in Ikeja for further care. His prolonged absence from social media and public engagements sparked concerns among fans, many of whom repeatedly sought updates about his health and whereabouts.

In August, the entertainer broke his silence through a message shared on his WhatsApp channel, thanking supporters for their patience and continued loyalty during his absence. He acknowledged that he had been unable to connect with his audience as he would have liked, but said their support had meant a great deal to him.

Shaggi also indicated at the time that he was not ready to disclose everything he had experienced.
“I wish I could tell y’all everything right now, but I can’t. Not yet,” he said, assuring his followers that he had not forgotten them.

The comedian’s latest post has renewed conversations about the reported shooting, with fans and colleagues expressing relief at seeing him return to the public space.

Media personality Toke Makinwa welcomed his return, writing, “Welcome back… you’ve been missed and thankful for life.” Actress Iyabo Ojo also expressed support, while other entertainers and followers offered prayers for his recovery.

Broda Shaggi is one of Nigeria’s prominent comedy skit makers, known for his energetic performances, distinctive characters and acting roles in Nollywood productions.

He gained popularity through online comedy videos and has since established himself as a recognisable figure in Nigeria’s entertainment industry. In 2022 and 2023, he won the Best Actor in a Comedy, Movie or TV Series award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

His promised account, scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, is expected to provide further insight into the incident and the months that followed.

The circumstances surrounding the reported shooting have not been fully clarified publicly.
