Nigerian athleisure, activewear and sportswear brand BerbieBeauty has outlined its medium-term growth plans as it seeks to strengthen its position in the women’s fashion market and expand its reach beyond Nigeria.

The brand, known for its coordinated workout sets and lifestyle clothing, is broadening its offerings to meet the needs of women seeking outfits that combine comfort, functionality and contemporary style.

Its product range includes gym wear, Pilates outfits, padel and tennis-inspired pieces, leggings, jumpsuits, lounge clothing and travel or airport sets.

As fashion and fitness increasingly intersect, BerbieBeauty is positioning its collections to serve both active and everyday lifestyles, with designs intended to transition from workouts to casual outings, errands and travel.

Founded in 2017 as a women’s beauty and lifestyle business, the company initially sold products such as contact lenses, eyelashes, hair care products, and shapewear. In 2023, it expanded into athleisure and activewear, marking a shift towards clothing designed for different aspects of women’s daily lives.

The expansion reflects the brand’s emphasis on versatility, with coordinated pieces that can be styled for exercise and worn beyond the gym.

Its collections feature matching sets, sports bras, leggings and jumpsuits, alongside lounge wear and travel outfits. The designs incorporate feminine details, statement colours and silhouettes intended to complement different styles.

Matching sets remain central to the brand’s offering, providing customers with coordinated outfits that require minimal additional styling.

Beyond aesthetics, the brand’s positioning in the premium activewear market places emphasis on comfort, fabric quality, durability and fit, particularly for clothing designed for repeated use across different activities.

Expanding beyond the gym

BerbieBeauty’s product development reflects growing demand for clothing that combines sportswear functionality with everyday fashion.

Its Pilates and padel collections cater to women interested in specialised fitness and recreational activities, while tennis-inspired pieces extend the range into other sports-related settings.

The brand’s lounge and airport sets also broaden its lifestyle offering, targeting customers seeking coordinated outfits for relaxation and travel.

Among its named designs are the Love Bomb, Sugar Rush, Hot Shot Set and Allure Set, which reflect its focus on coordinated styling, colour and feminine silhouettes.

Rather than concentrating exclusively on gym clothing, BerbieBeauty is seeking to develop a broader athleisure wardrobe that accommodates exercise, leisure and everyday activities.

Looking beyond Nigeria

The brand has also signalled ambitions to reach a wider African and international audience, with campaigns forming part of its strategy to increase visibility.

According to the company, its Drop 10 campaign, launched in September 2025, was photographed in London and featured international models alongside Ghanaian influencer Dulcie Boateng.

The campaign reflected the brand’s efforts to present its collections within an international fashion context while retaining its Nigerian identity.

However, sustained expansion will depend on maintaining product quality, consistent sizing, reliable customer service and the capacity to serve customers across different markets.
With an October 2026 collection and a broader rebranding exercise planned, BerbieBeauty is preparing for another phase of development.

Its medium-term ambition is to strengthen its identity as a women’s lifestyle brand, extending its reach beyond gym wear to encompass activewear, leisure clothing and everyday fashion.
