As Muslims in Jos, Plateau State, yesterday celebrated the Eid – El – Fitri festival peacefully, Governor Simon Bako Lalong and Senator Jonah David Jang have called on the Muslim Ummah in the state to use the lessons learnt during the month of Ramadan for the betterment of humanity as enjoined by Prophet Mohammed (SAW).

Lalong, in a statement by his Director, Press and Public Affairs, Mr. Samuel Emmanuel Nanle, noted that Islam preaches peace and peaceful co – existence.

He calls for special prayers for the nation’s leadership in order for the nation to witness the rapid transformation the citizens expect.
He restated the determination of his administration to pursue the peace and security of all in the state.

Lalong urged the people of the state to be law – abiding during the celebration particularly on the use of motor – cycle, while they should also be security conscious at worship places.

Jang also called on the Muslims to continue to use the lessons imbibed during the month of Ramadan as guides in their daily lives.
In a statement by his Personal Assistant/Media Aide, Mr. Chris Gyang, the senator noted, more than before Nigerians are in dire need of the core values of peace, sacrifice, love for one another and discipline which he said.
