A frontline member of the All progressive Congress (APC), Chief Ogbonnaya Onu has expressed optimism that Nigeria would join the comity of advanced countries of the world in no distant time from now.

Speaking while receiving officials of the Association of Northern Nigerian students (ANNS) at his residence, yesterday in Abuja, he assured that President Muhammadu Buhari would work assiduously towards actualizing the goal.

He nu remarked that the steps needed to take the country to the zenith of development requires the immense support of both students and academics spread across various institutions of learning in the country.
Stressing the need for unity among Nigerians, irrespective of the ethnic and religious differences, he urged Nigerian students not to lose hope as the President Buhari led administration would surely correct the ills of the past and reposition the country to toe the path of development.

Onu, who was awarded the centenary certificate of leadership in recognition of his selfless service to humanity, said it was incumbent on the citizenry to support the Buhari led administration for Nigeria to enjoy respect from other nations of the world.

“We want Nigeria to be a new nation, where differences will not pose any problems for us as a nation but rather, would help us to be a stronger nation. Cement, sand and water, if you take any of them, they look so fragile but if you mix the three together, they would be so strong that it can carry any weight. That is what we want to happen in Nigeria. We want our differences to be basis of our strength; it shouldn’t be a basis of our weakness.
