Buhari’s wife in Owerri, makes case for women

THE wife of President, Hajia Aisha Buhari, has said that women are drivers of catalyst for development in the nation building. Buhari, represented by the wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dalapo Osinbajo, made the disclosure on Friday while inaugurating a Skills Acquisition Centre in Ulakwo, Agbala, Owerri North Local Council and two furnished two- bedroom bungalows in Ohi, Owerri West Local Council and Umudula, Owerri North Local Council, all built by the wife of Imo State governor, Mrs. Nkechi Okorocha, for two indigent widows from the area, Mrs. Christiana Ada Ononiwu and Mrs. Onyinyechi Ahamefula. She also inspected the Imo Foundation complex for the free treatment of cancer and other ailments for the down-trodden in the state.

She commended the wife of Imo State governor, urging others in the society to replicate such.

Mrs. Buhari, said the projects would help alleviate the sufferings of the women and enhance their economic wellbeing, translating to Imo must be better.

She urged the women to impact positively in the lives of their children and youths. She said: “Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, is depending on the women that are here to ensure that they bring up their children in the knowledge of truth and knowledge of unity.

She is depending on you to ensure that the value that we hold so dear is passed on from one generation to generation. What I have seen is that your prayers have been answered.

The women of Imo State. on behalf of Her Excellency, the First Lady of Nigeria, Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, she sends her regards to you. I should congratulate you that joy and hope can still be found in Imo State.”

She described the efforts of the “She Needs A Roof Project” (SNAP), under the Women of Divine Destiny (WODI), of Mrs. Okorocha, leading to the construction of over 150 houses for the indigent widows in many parts of the 27 Local Councils of the state as laudable, very unique and restoring hope to the downtrodden while asking rich Nigerians to emulate such.

The beneficiaries of the houses expressed happiness to the donor, asking for extension of such to the others in the same category.
