DPR seals 30 fuel stations in Imo
THE Owerri zone of the Directorate of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sealed 28 fuel stations in Imo State over alleged sharp practices. Zonal Operations Controller, Ndy Apkomgbo, and the Assistant Director of Operations, Edwin Ona Ondoma, told newsmen in Owerri on Tuesday after a monitoring exercise on the activities of independent marketers that the agency initially sealed 42 stations.
Twelve of them, however, paid the stipulated fine of each N100,000, and were re-opened, the officers said, adding that their alleged offences included under-delivery, over-pricing, hoarding, diversion, adulteration, evasion of DPR officials, cheating of customers and operating with expired licences.
Apkamgbo further assured that in spite of its constraints, the agency would not relent in its functions to ensure that consumers were not cheated by the marketers.
He directed the closure of any fuel station that indulges in sharp practices. To ensure total compliance, he said, the agency would continue to penalise offenders, warning that the length of time for which a station could remain shut is their prerogative.

The department of petroleum resourses in Anambra state is not working at all.in virtually all the filling stations,they sell above the official pump price,always fund of cheating people,the only compliant ones are nnpc stations.its a pity,anambra needs help. i move motion for the fearless dpr officials in imo state to relocate to anambra state.the collegues in anambra state are too corrupt.
