BEDC promises steady power supply, may review tariff
The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC), has assured its customers of steady power supply saying it has spent about one billion naira in the last four months on network repairs and augmentation of other facilities.
The power distribution company appealed customers to support the proposed tariff review, describing it as the only weapon that can halt the epileptic power supply across the zone.
The body, which is in charge of electricity generation in Edo, Ekiti, Delta and Ondo States disclosed that despite huge amount spent or repairs, there are still a lot to be done to make their customers enjoy uninterrupted power supply.
At an interactive session on Thursday with customers in Ado Ekiti, BEDC Managing Director, represented by Mrs Kunbi Labiyi, said the traffic review is ‘’to ensure customers have more power by ensuring a value chain of generating companies, transmission and ourselves , the distribution company have a cost reflective tariff that will ensure sustainable investment and payment for services”.
