The Book of Revelation ends with the risen Lordís promise: ìSurely, I am coming soon,î and the churchís response, ìAmen. Come, Lord Jesus!î (Revelation 22:20).
You must be preparing yourself, so you will be ready for Jesusí second coming. Jesusí reply emphasised the events that would take place before the end of the age. He pointed out that His disciples should be less concerned with knowing the exact date and more concerned with being prepared; living a holy lifestyle so that no matter when Jesus comes in glory, He would claim them as His.
Therefore, all who wants to reign with Jesus must continue to do the important work that needs to be completed before He returns.
Jesus talked about the end times and final judgment to show His followers the urgency of spreading the Good News of salvation to everyone. Are you 100 percent sure of your salvation? If not, now is the appointed day. ìTurn from your sins and turn to God, because the Kingdom of Heaven is near,î Matthew 3:2. You prepare for Christís coming by turning away from sin, turning to God in faith and purifying your lives by humility and holiness before God.
ìLook! I am sending my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. Then the Lord you are seeking will suddenly come to His Temple.î Malachi 3:1. Listen to Godís messengers, because their words will help you prepare for Christís coming.
Learn the signs of Christís coming and watch for them. ìNow learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its buds become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know without being told that summer is near. Just so, when you see the events Iíve described beginning to happen, you can know His return is very near, right at the door,î Matthew 24:32-33.
Because we donít know when Christ will come again, we must be prepared at all times.
Be prepared, because you donít know what day your Lord is coming. Know this: A homeowner, who knew exactly when a burglar was coming, would stay alert and not permit the house to be broken into. You also must be ready all the time. For the Son of Man will come when least expected. Matthew 24:42-44
If you are truly saved, you are required to take part in proclaiming the good news of salvation. By so doing, you help others prepare for Christís coming. The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is an important event in the life of Christians. How prepared are you?
God bless.
