Aya Jones, a French model born in 1994 recently returned to the modelling world after an accident that almost claimed her life.

The Paris-born model that was discovered on the streets of Paris was on vacation with her boyfriend in Thailand when a speedboat carrying hotel guests to the beach slammed into the vehicle she was in.

The accident, which happened on August 29, 2016, left her with a punctured lung and stomach, a fractured arm, leg, and pelvis, as well as a cracked skull, as she revealed to Vogue magazine.

She woke up in a hospital in Bangkok with no memory of what had happened to her. With multiple surgeries, Aya now has a metal rod in her arm and leg.

It took another six months for Aya to learn how to walk again and, more importantly for her career, how to walk in heels.

Aya returned to modelling a year after the accident, starting off her come-back with an ad for Mango in Barcelona and was later seen on the runway for Dolce and Gabbana and Marc Jacobs with heavy make-up used to cover her scars.

Aya Jones is more confident than ever and is more appreciative of life because she now realizes how easy it is for everything to end.
