Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has said months of severe pain affected her ability to walk and left her needing help with everyday activities.

Daniels appeared in a wheelchair in an Instagram video shared on Saturday, October 10, to celebrate her 25th birthday and explain her absence from social media.

“I know many of you may be surprised seeing me in a wheelchair. Well, welcome to another chapter of my life. Let me walk you through what my life has been since many of you have asked questions about my absence,” she said.

The actress said her health problems began with something she initially considered minor. Her condition later worsened, restricting her movement and leaving her unable to walk at times.

She identified the period after her Children’s Day carnival as a turning point, saying the pain intensified as she underwent repeated medical tests.

“For several months now, I have lost my freedom to move around as I please. It started as something minor, very minor, but eventually led to this.

“But things took a major turn after the last public gathering I hosted, my children’s day carnival. One test after another, I jokingly started calling myself elaborate. The pain became excruciating. Sometimes I can walk, and sometimes I can’t move. I cried,” she added.

Beyond the physical pain, Daniels said relying on others for routine tasks had taken an emotional toll.

However, she reported progress in her recovery and said the improvement encouraged her to speak publicly about her experience.

“Well, me sitting here today, in front of this camera, sharing this with y’all, it’s because there’s been some really significant developments in my recovery. And I say, thank you, Lord,” she said.

Daniels credited her faith with helping her cope during the difficult period, expressing gratitude for her recovery and hope for healing.

The actress, who welcomed her second child in June 2022, also said she had moved closer to her loved ones, particularly her children.

Daniels and businessman and politician Ned Nwoko married in 2019. They welcomed their first son in June 2020.

The couple later separated. In May 2026, Daniels said she had ruled out getting married again.

Speaking about her current home in the birthday video, she said she initially rented the property but became interested in buying it after moving in.
