Two goals from Friday Okoronkwo and Adedapo Babatunde were all Team Three Crowns needed to defeat their Frisco counterparts 2-1 in the opening game of the FC Wamco football competition, which kicked off at the Agege Stadium on Saturday.

Oluseyi Adegbite scored Team Frisco’s lone goal.

The opening match of the competition, watched by members of staff and families of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Plc., saw the teams lining up in the UEFA Champions League style before the official kick off done by the company’s Managing Director, Rahul Colako.

Colako in his opening address disclosed that eight teams are involved in the competition, which will end on November 7 with the winners going home with various prizes.

He said, “the field of sports is a great place to display many values of FrieslandCampina Wamco with the objective of winning together. Asides entertainment, the contest seeks to encourage work-life balance and promote the physical and mental well-being of staff.
