The General Secretary of the group, Chief Sunbo Onitiri, advised the duo to reconsider their decision, adding that motorists and commuters were held up in a severe traffic jam on Thursday lasting for hours, as residents protested and refused to pay the new toll fees imposed, causing traffic that spread to many parts of the Island.
The fresh hike has commuters paying as high as a 70 percent increase in toll fares. Onitiri noted that thousands of residents living along that axis ply the road to their various places of work and would be carrying an extra burden in the face of the daunting economy that has wrecked many Nigerians.
