NPFL: Enyimba maintain lead after draw with Nasarawa United

EnyimbaEnyimba moved a step closer to winning a seventh Nigeria league title after they extended their lead on top of the table following a goalless draw at Nasarawa United yesterday, reports AfricanFootball.com.

Enyimba thus remained top with 62 points from 34 games, six points clear of second-placed Warri Wolves, whose home game against Akwa United was rained off and will be played this morning at the same venue.

Hosts Nasarawa United started yesterday’s clash against Enyimba on a high tempo trying to get the goals to unsettle the visitors, who did well to stand resolute in defence.

The best chance of the game, however, fell to Enyimba midfielder, Kingsley Sokari, who missed a sitter in the 42nd minute.

In other games played yesterday, Giwa FC got an away win over troubled El Kanemi, Abia Warriors downed Lobi Stars 2-0, Wikki beat FC IfeanyiUBah 2-1, while Heartland defeated Sharks 1-0.

In Port Harcourt, Dolphins beat defending champions, Kano Pillars, 2-1, Shooting Stars edged FC Taraba
1-0, while Kwara United battled to a 1-1 draw with Bayelsa United.
