WORLD’s youngest filmmaker, Zuriel Oduwole, who has already etched her place in history in the movie-making industry, especially in documentary film-making, recently wrapped up filming and production of her fifth documentary (but the first made for the big screen).

The movie, which premiered in Lagos at the Civic Centre, has debuted at the Film House Cinema, and the Genesis Deluxe Cinema in Lekki, making her the youngest person to have achieved such feat.

The documentary film entitled “A Promising Africa” was first screened and premiered in London, United Kingdom in December 2014, and then in Accra, Ghana; Pretoria, South Africa; and Tokyo, Japan early this year.

Her goal is to tell Africa’s successful stories first on the small screen, and now on the big screen, in addition to showing herself as an example of what an educated girl can do.

Having directed a TV commercial for GAP in Los Angeles earlier in July and made a Girl Confidence documentary for P&G in August, she is now hoping to tell, perhaps, one of her biggest stories yet – about the life and times of the world’s biggest music artiste and entertainer – Michael Jackson.

She met one of the Jackson famous brothers – Jermaine Jackson, in Los Angeles, and that sparked her interest in making this next movie project, telling the incredible story of the man known as the King of Pop or perhaps also, the first person to Moonwalk.

“I have known about him since I was three, learned a few of his dance moves since I was four.

But really, who in the world today has not heard about Michael Jackson before or seen his picture, or tried to dance like him”, asks Zuriel, in her usual voice of innocence. “It would be really cool to work on his story, in the future.”
