FIFA, CAF, hail Mba over Federation Cup honour
World and African football ruling bodies, Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have joined the list of those, who have written to congratulate Linus Mba on the recent honour done him as one of those that helped in adding value to the 2015 Federation Cup.
In a mail signed by Carlos Henrique, Referee Development Officer in FIFA, Mr. Mba was congratulated for ‘his hard work, dedication and passion for refereeing.’
The FIFA referees boss added that the FIFA Referees Advisor’s honour was well deserved and that it did not come as a surprise.
In the same vein, the CAF Referees manager, Eddy Maillet, wrote to commend Mr. Mba for his “open minded attitude, ever ready and ever willing to further the cause of African refereeing.
“Your competency and professionalism has never been in doubt,” Mr. Maillet wrote on a man, who was for several years a member of the CAF Referees Committee and is currently the consultant to the NFF on refereeing as well as a member of the NFF Referees committee.
Mr. Mba, a retired FIFA referee, was one of those honoured by the NFF during the Federation Cup final for contributions towards the success of the Federation Cup even through the ages when it was known at various times as Governors Cup, Challenge Cup, FA Cup and now, Federation Cup.
