The US football federation has proposed a coach for Nigeria’s Super Falcons, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, Amaju Pinnick, has disclosed.
Pinnick revealed that the proposal was made during a meeting with his U.S. counterpart, adding that the NFF have yet to hire a foreign coach for the country’s women’s team because a company that was ready to offset the salaries of such a coach almost went bankrupt.
African champions, Falcons, failed to go past the group stage of the 2015 FIFA World Cup in Canada and they also failed to qualify for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The Super Falcons are currently ranked 38th in the latest FIFA ratings.
The Falcons, under caretaker coach Chris Danjuma, failed to qualify for next year’s Olympics in Rio after they were eliminated by Equatorial Guinea.
They also failed to medal at the recent African Games after losses to Cameroun and Cote d’Ivoire.
