
THE God Bless Nigeria (GBN) Church, Lagos, has called on policy makers and lawmakers to develop initiatives to strengthen integration and inclusion of people with physical challenge.
At an event organised by the church to celebrate with the physical challenge in Lagos, the guest speaker, Mr. David Anyaele, who is also the Executive Director of The Centre for Citizens with Disabilities (CCD), said the goal of GBN Church is to help build a sustainable world for all living with disability, as well as empower them towards fulfilling their divine purposes. He said the aim was to help them focus on their ability in the midst of the challenges posed by their disability.
Themed: “Celebrating Ability in Disability”, Anyaele said there is need to integrate people with physical challenge so that they can make progress in every aspect of socio-economic life.
n line with the United Nations observance of the International Disability Day on December 3, 2015, the GBN held a service in honour of people living with any form of disability. The church used the opportunity to foster better understanding of people with disability, discuss issues bordering on their rights, dignity and welfare.
The Deaf and Able Department of GBN comprising people that are audibly impaired made theatrical presentations at the service.
As a Church with the mandate to affect communities, GBN has provided the right environment for people living with disability by creating a platform that is accessible to them at its Church in Iponri, Surulere and across the centres in Lagos.
