2 docked in Osogbo over New Year eve burglary

CUFFTwo persons were on Monday arraigned in Osogbo over the alleged burglary and theft of two flat screen television sets on New Year eve.
The two accused persons – Deji Fatunbi (24) and Opatola Kehinde (30) – are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, theft, and burglary before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi, told the court that the accused persons on Dec. 31 at 11:30 p.m. burgled the residence of one Opatola Kehinde and carted away two Plasma television sets and three handsets.

He said that the offences contravene Sections 516, 12 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 34, Vol. 11, Laws of Osun, 2003.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.

The magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 and two sureties each in like sum and adjourned the case to March 11, for hearing.
