NFF plans CAF License ‘A’ Coaching Course
Some of the candidates vying to replace Sepp Blatter as FIFA president have arrived in Accra, Ghana, for today’s Ordinary Congress of the West African Football Union (Zone B), which will have all the zone’s FA presidents in attendance.

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, and General Secretary, Mohammed Sanusi, will be part of the congress where a new president for the Zone, who will serve for the period 2016 to 2020, will be elected, the NFF disclosed yesterday.

WAFU Zone B incumbent president, Kwesi Nyantakyi, who is also president of the Ghana Football Association, is being challenged by Djibrilla Hima Hamidou of Niger Republic.

According to a statement by Aka Malan, General Secretary of WAFU Zone B, the five candidates for next month’s FIFA presidential election taking place in Zurich have indicated their interest in presenting their programmes to the various FA presidents of the Zone at the Congress.

Already, confirmed to be on ground to talk to the WAFU chieftains are Infantino, Prince Ali Hussein of Jordan and Sheikh Salman.
Former FIFA Deputy General Secretary, Jerome Champagne, also a candidate, will send a message to the Congress, while South African Tokyo Sexwale is yet to confirm his arrival.

Meanwhile, the NFF says it has concluded arrangements to organise the CAF License ‘A’ Coaching Course – the highest workshop for coaches in the African continent.
NFF’s Assistant Director (Technical), Mr. Abdulrafiu Yusuf, told thenff.com yesterday that the much –awaited CAF License ‘A’ course will start on February 21, and last for four weeks.

“This is a course that most Nigerian coaches have been looking forward to. We have notified the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and we are making all necessary arrangements to have a successful program.
“The forms are now available for sale at the Accounts department of Nigeria Football Federation. It is important that interested and qualified persons pick up their forms sale to help our planning,” said Abdulrafiu Yusuf, a former Nigeria international player.

It would be recalled that the NFF has conducted a number of CAF License ‘C’ and CAF License ‘B’ coaching courses over the past five years. But this is the first CAF License ‘A’ course to be conducted.
The latest was a CAF License ‘B’ coaching course that took place from November 15 to 29, 2015 and attracted about 80 participants.
