Diocese Dedicates St. Thomas’ Anglican Parish In Oba

THE Rt. Revd. Dr. Owen Nwokolo, Bishop, Diocese On the Niger, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Anambra State, recently, dedicated one of its ultra modern and air-conditioned churches — St. Thomas’ Anglican Parish at Okuzu village in Oba community, Idemili South LGA, Anambra State.

Ven. Chidi Nwadike, Archdeacon of Oba Archdeaconry, Ven. John Nkwoemezie, Diocesan Synod Secretary, Ven. I. I. Ikele, Ven. Steve Nzekwe, Ven. DSA Okoye and Ven. Rowland Obikobe assisted him.

Illustrious sons and daughters of St. Thomas’ Anglican Parish, Okuzu, graced the event.

In his sermon, Rt. Revd. Dr. Owen C. Nwokolo expressed his joy, while admonishing the congregation to be committed to the worship of God and obey the church leadership.

He extolled Revd. Gabriel Oluchukwu Chigozirim Ekekwe, the Vicar, for encouraging the development strides at St. Thomas Parish, Okuzu, Oba.

He commended the efforts and commitment of the main financiers and sponsors of the new church building and urged them to always keep in their memory the fact that the reward of their labours would come at the appropriate time from the Lord.
