Gunmen at the weekend in Umudara, Umulogho community of Obowo Local Council, in Imo State, broke into the home of a 29-year-old widow, Mrs. Christiana Iroh, dispossessing her of two of her six-month-old triplets.

Briefing journalists yesterday, she said it is still a mystery how the hoodlums forcefully gained entrance into her home at about 1a.m and made away with the two babies, adding that the hoodlums’ intension to carry all three was foiled when she exerted pressure and raised alarm that drew the attention of neighbours.

Speaking in Igbo, she said: “The hoodlums came with guns. They broke our door while I was sleeping with the triplets. I struggled with them though they held me by the throat and pointed their guns at me. Its unfortunate they took away two of the babies (Chinemerem and Chidera).”

She regretted that all the noise she made to alert the community didn’t stop the gunmen from escaping with her babies. Her late husband, The Guardian gathered, died in 2014.
