NOUN Graduates 15 First Class Students

noun-logoThe National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), at its 5th convocation ceremony held last week graduated 10,653 students with different grades of degrees and certificates.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chancellor of the school, Prof. Vincent Ado Tenebe disclosed that out of the total number 15 emerged with First Class degrees. Inclusive in this number is 70-year old Rear Admiral Orisha, who made First Class in Mathematics.

Called on the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Nigerian Law School (NLS) to recognize its students and allow them to go for the compulsory one-year national service, as well as participate in the Law School.

He said, “graduates of the university are not mobilized to participate in NYSC while the law graduates are also not allowed to attend the Nigerian Law School, making it impossible for them to qualify as practicing lawyers.”

Prof. Tenebe urged all the appropriate agencies to look into the school and allow its students to go for NYSC and also the Law School like other universities.
