FORMER Lagos State Governor and National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu‎ yesterday described the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Samuel Odulana Odugade 1 as a disciplined, forthright centenarian with sound sense of judgment on issues.
Tinubu at the Monatan residence of the deceased monarch, said unlike some royal fathers who are known for unsavoury behavior, he was ‎forthright, downright and sound in his judgment.

He was accompanied by the Oyo state governor, Abiola Ajimobi, former National Chairman of APC, Chief Bisi Akande, the State Chairman of APC, Chief Akin Oke.

The entourage was received by the Odulana family led by the eldest son, Professor Femi Odulana and the widow Olori Moriyike Lana, as well as the Olubadan-in-Council led by the Otun Olubadan of Ibadan High Chief Lekan Balogun.

He said, “Baba did not put us to shame. He was honest and forthright. He was downright in his judgment on issues. Because our governor, Ajimobi ‎changed the face of Oyo from dirtiness to cleanliness, our Baba conferred him with the title of “Atunluse of Ibadanland”. This development has prevented the spread of Lassa fever in the state. Baba left the state in progress. I pray the progress is not retarded”, he prayed.

Chief Bisi Akande also extolled the late Olubadan, describing him as an astute politician whose reign was peaceful and the state was cleaner.

He described him as ‘Our Dictionary’, saying,‎ “Baba was our dictionary that we were consulting always. We pray that God should provide us another dictionary”.

Responding ‎on behalf of the Olubadan-in-Council, High Chief Balogun thanked Asiwaju and his entourage for the gesture of commiserating with the late Oba’s family.

On his part, Professor Lana commended the APC leader and members of his entourage saying the late Oba was father to all and that his celebration would be done by all.
