I have no sympathy for anyone who steals public funds. I do not care if such an individual is from my village. I have always believed that stealing public funds is worse than stealing from an individual or company. This is because you are making millions of people to suffer because of your greed. In China these idiots would be executed upon conviction.
Thank you for your observation and this is not China. If you are not happy with our democracy, you are free to relocate to China. Whether you like it or not in democracy there is this saying that ‘innocence until proven guilty’
Your views are bitter and primitive. It is still an allegation, yet to be proved. Judgement I am sure will be based on solid verifiable evidence. Until then you must hold your peace. Jailing people through the media is unacceptable.
So what would you rather suggest should be done with our convicted corrupt celebrity politicians?
Due process should be followed.
Can we stop making comments as if we cannot read simple English…the man said if Convicted..
It looks like all those making and lashing out comments when the man had not said anything wrong benefitted one way or the other frlm these corrupt individuals..
Am sure if someone steals their 1k in a bus..they will ensure that person is burnt to death with tyres..
Please yourself.
Just done that by letting you know u attacked the man wrongly..just say what you would have preferred for looters of moneies that sent fellow citizens to early graves..
Thank God, here is not China. We re in democracy.
@Mukintu said “In China, these idiots would be executed upon CONVICTION”. @ The fact, u attacked a nomenclature of Mukintu’s argument. He didn’t say innocents should be jailed or executed, “convicted idiots” he said…….
@ Okolie Vitus, if a brother steals 1k in our various communities we all know the instant judgement melt on such person…. either beating to comma, or gets lynched… Aren’t those happening in Democracy?
Let’s call a spade a spade and a thief a thief…… Let our law makers make corruption or public mismanagement punishable by death or with leniency, a life time imprisonment with all assets seized, then we can witness a corrupt free democracy and the common man can enjoy the dividends of our so called Democracy….. but as long as our laws protect the thieves and we citizens come out to back those thieves because of our relationship or connection to them, we are not building a future for our dear Nation.
CHANGE is the ONLY CONSTANT thing in LIFE, it could be positive or negative, but as long as it’s returning stashed away public funds and it’s been used purposefully, I am contended.
I am a NIGERIAN and I LOVE my COUNTRY.
God Bless PMB, God bless the good citizens of my dear Nation, God bless Nigeria.

Mukintu, is of the view that he doesn’t deserve bail. If our law says go for jail upon conviction, so be it, but not citing China as yieldstick for nigeria. U hv our law, and our law is our law.
I like ur view, but our discussion is on bail but not upon conviction.
Must he be convicted?. Must he be convicted for the purpose of meeting “execution “?. Oshimole like APC has made plenty false accusations against Iwealla. What happens to false accusers in your China?. There would be a saner Nigeria after this brouhaha episodes and high octane sensationalism before court proceedings. Shaming this man in handcuffs like Obasanjo did Balogun, all in bitterness would come to roast in history. We must all learn civility and not brute show and winner is right.
Fellow Nigerians, I think it’s high time we stopped reacting with sentiment. This is public fund we’re talking about here, and we all know what happens when ‘big men’ (our political celebs) are tried; justice is hardly served.
Let’s just hope and pray that justice will have its course here.
The suspect here, and in other similar cases cannot prove their innocence in all these cases. Afterall, we all know how corrupt our system is (sadly, the judiciary system itself is very corrupt)… it’s really hard not to compromise, either voluntarily or involuntarily. So all these suspects cannot come and tell us that their hands are clean!
We can only hope that corruption does not win the case in the process between indictment and conviction.
God help us!
We will review and take appropriate action.
