In a press conference in Abuja, the Academic Forum of the IMN, represented by Engineer Abdullahu Musa, said it received intelligence report through a document from the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) of plans to use hoodlums to try and create a belief that Shiites were trying to forcefully free their leader and in the process got him killed, along with some of his members.
The group also claimed it has in its possession a letter written by one Sanusi, M. Galadima, a director in the NSA to the office of the Inspector-General of police, claiming that IMN plans to raid selected detention facilities across the country during the elections by carrying out coordinated attacks meant to forcefully effect Zakzaky’s release.
Musa said IMN has never used force to free any of its brothers and sisters whenever government arrests them. Rather, it has always resorted to legal means to secure their freedom.
He said the public should note that if anything happens to their leader, they would hold the President and NSA responsible.
