‘Warri Wolves will do well in CAF Champions League’

Warri Wolves FCTHE management of Warri Wolves says the club will not disappoint Nigerians in this year’s CAF Champions League despite not living up to expectation of the fans at the on- going second phase of the Super Four competition in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Wolves finished last with three points in the first phase of the Super Four in Kaduna last week. In Uyo, the Sam Okpodu-led Wolves lost their opening match 0-1 to Enyimba FC and played goalless with the host team, Akwa United in their second match on Wednesday evening. They will face Nasarawa United in their last game today.

Wolves, one of Nigeria’s flag bearers in this year’s CAF Champions League, will take on Club Praia Cruz of Sao Tome and Principe on February 14 at the Warri City Stadium and the management assured yesterday that everything is working smoothly.

The Club chairman, Moses Etu, said that Nigerians should not use the Super Four competition to judge the club, adding that the ‘rustiness’ affecting some of the old players would soon be a thing of the past.
