Investors and transport operators, under the auspices of Public Transport Owners of Nigeria Association (PTONA), have called for increased support and collaboration of the Federal Government to remedy the chaotic situation of the sector.

Chairman of Efex Executive Ltd., Mr. Isaac Uhunmwagho, who spoke on behalf of the operators at the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos at the weekend, said order, sanity, discipline could be achieved when government works in collaboration with the people who operate transport networks rather than isolating them.

Uhunmwagho said the huge funds, when invested yearly in the system, would yield more visible fruits.

He said: “If government deals with us, we will be able to standardize the sector.”
