Sasol International Integrated Energy and Chemicals Company, has awarded scholarship to 10 Petroleum and Chemical Engineering students of the University of Lagos.

The students were selected for their exceptional academic performances as reflected in their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

Speaking shortly after the award presentation, Senior Business Manager, Sasol Energy, Mlandzeni Boyce, said the scholarship, which will last for three years, was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

He said the company intends to sustain the award, which covers tuition and accommodation, as a way of encouraging petroleum and chemical engineering students, which is the company’s line of business.

He said, “Our focus is to create a sustainable value and we are proud to be taking this company to new frontiers, even as we give back to the society where we operate.”

On the selection criteria, he said Sasol had earlier engaged the school authorities to identify exceptional students from the department, who eventually became the beneficiaries.
