Why Benue State deserves special congratulations!

Sir: Moji Daramola was our colleague in University of Ilorin before relocating to South Africa. She was the first person ever to invite me to Facebook. I was not comfortable with what she termed “My Facebook”, because I didn’t know what it meant. When I suffered frustration trying to operate it, I abandoned it. I later found that the frustration was due to spiritual forces. Hence I have not sought for guidance from any (human) Facebook expert. Yes, Moji has married, but her husband should pardon me for sticking to Moji Daramola. My habitual approach to my childhood friends (Moji is like one of them) is to call them as I used to call them: Lucia Faleti, Denise Orodiran, Mary Afolabi who changed her maiden name to Omoniregun (the three of them from Ijio, nine miles to my Iwereile village, Oyo north); Mary Lara Lawal (Igbominaland), Marcela De Bei Ugo (Italy), et al, in case there is someone else I should mention. Anyway, that was when Facebook registered my name and email.

Then the former Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Prof Emmanuel Obeng, invited me in 2013 to LinkedIn. I suffered the same frustration trying to perform the rituals, meaning that the spiritual forces are unrepentant. Yet LinkedIn also registered me, creating the wrong impression that I know the meaning of any social medium. The spiritual forces have nothing to do with my religion, African Traditional Religion (ATR), and I am reluctant to approach Christian spiritualists who advertise exorcism and deliverance. Yes, Orunmila can throw light on my social media crisis and prescribe the way out, but I don’t feel that the matter is weighty enough. Henry Peschke warns against “mediumistic psychosis” which comes with constant resort to oracular or prophetic consultation, as I note also in my African Ancestral Heritage in Christian Interpretations (More Books, Amazon.com, etc). I crave the indulgence of those who seek in vain to chat with me on Twoo.

Benue and Taraba states deserve special congratulations for voting against the All Progressives Congress (APC), in favour of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). What with all the killings by the Fulani herdsmen terrorists, with particular reference to January 1, 2018 till date? January 1, 2018 was supposed to be the starting date in Benue state, when the law against roaming of animals (anti-grazing law) should begin to take effect, after too many killings and ravaging of agrarian communities by the Fulani herdsmen terrorists. Nobody knew that the Fulani herdsmen terrorists were preparing within the grace period, of more than six months, to reply with worse brutality than ever on the Benue agrarian communities. The fact that the herdsmen have the backing of the President, General Muhammadu Buhari (GMB) came to the fore when Police authority said any state that wanted anti-grazing law to work should provide ranches, notwithstanding that the animals belong to the owners.

If you add the brutalities of the herdsmen to the brutalities of the war against Boko Haram and the numerous innocent lives affected and the economic wastages inflicted, you will understand why I keep calling GMB the worst brutal President Nigeria has ever had. Indeed which right-thinking person would vote for someone and a political party that have committed so much carnage and economic destruction, in the unjustifiable war against Boko Haram, protection of the Fulani herdsmen terrorists and wanton demolition of people’s houses and shops? Yes, there is a curse on all such people, and anybody aiding and abetting electoral fraud, judicially, politically, economically and religion-wise.
