In a statement yesterday, the agency said: “The attention of NAFDAC has been drawn to images of Fan Milk FanYogo Gin & Ginger purported to contain 12.5 per cent alcohol being circulated via social media.
“NAFDAC’s management wishes to reassure members of the public that the product is not registered, not known to the agency and is not in circulation in Nigeria.
“The agency has carried out a thorough investigation Fan Milk Plc’s facility and can confirm that no such product is being developed by the company and no stock of packaging of FanYogo Gin & Ginger were found in the premises.
“Fan Milk PLC, known to NAFDAC as producer of milk products, has also issued a letter to NAFDAC in which it referred to the image circulating in on social media as a false, mischievous and malicious.”
